This policy explains what personal information OCLE collects when you visit ocleshop.com or buy from us, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what choices you have. What we collect
- What you give us when you order: your name, email address, shipping and billing address, and phone number if you provide one. Payment card details go directly to our payment processor; we never see or store the full number.
- What you give us when you write to us: the contents of your message and your email address.
- What you give us if you subscribe: your email address, until you unsubscribe.
- What your device tells us automatically: IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, the pages you view, and the time you spend on them. This is collected using cookies and similar technologies.
Why we use it
- To take, process, ship and support your order, and to handle returns and refunds.
- To answer your messages.
- To send marketing emails, only if you asked for them, and only until you unsubscribe.
- To understand how the site is used so we can improve it.
- To measure and improve our advertising.
- To detect and prevent fraud, and to meet our legal and tax obligations.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share it with the service providers we need to run the shop:
- Shopify, which hosts this store and processes orders and payments on our behalf.
- Payment providers shown at checkout, which process your payment.
- Our fulfilment partners and shipping carriers, which receive the name and address needed to deliver your parcel.
- Analytics and advertising partners, described below.
- Authorities, where we are legally required to disclose information.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the site to work, such as remembering your cart, and others that help us measure traffic and advertising. These include tools provided by Shopify, Google Analytics, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and OpenAI (ChatGPT Ads). These partners may set their own cookies and receive information about your visit and your purchases, including a measurement event when an order is completed.
Sharing information with advertising partners in this way may be treated as “selling” or “sharing” personal information, or as “targeted advertising”, under some US state privacy laws. You can opt out on our privacy choices page, or by using your browser’s cookie controls or a Global Privacy Control signal, which we honour.
Why we are allowed to use it
OCLE SRLS is established in Italy, so the European General Data Protection Regulation applies to our handling of your information. We rely on the following legal bases: performance of a contract to take and deliver your order; consent for marketing emails and for non-essential cookies and advertising; legitimate interests to keep the shop secure, prevent fraud and understand how the site is used; and legal obligation to keep tax and accounting records.
Where your information goes
Our providers, including Shopify, are located in the United States and elsewhere outside the European Economic Area. Where information is transferred out of the EEA we rely on the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, or on an adequacy decision where one applies, to protect it.
Your rights
If you are in the European Union or the United Kingdom you have the right to access your personal information, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable form, and to withdraw consent at any time without affecting processing already carried out. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority; in Italy this is the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.
If you live in the United States, and in particular in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have the right to:
- know what personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- have it corrected if it is wrong;
- have it deleted;
- opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and of targeted advertising;
- not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
To exercise a right, email support@ocleshop.com or use our contact page. We will verify your identity, usually by confirming details of an order, and respond within the time the law allows. You may use an authorised agent.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as our tax and accounting obligations require, normally seven years. Marketing contacts are kept until you unsubscribe. Support messages are kept for two years. Analytics data is kept according to the retention period set by each provider.
Security
The site runs over an encrypted connection and payments are handled by PCI-compliant processors. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.
Children
This store is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our practices or the law. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
